A wonderful local restaurant that is run by one sweet old man. The soba was amazing and even the matcha tea was good (I normally don’t like matcha tea). Other than that the view of the river was very nice and calming. Highly recommended!

A beautiful spot next to the river and a comfortable seating area. The udon was delicious and very refreshing. The owner was lovely. We will be back again while we are here. Highly recommend this spot.

Great tofu cuisine for cheap, with a breezy river view. The food came out in a beautiful enamel box. The sansho pepper adds a delightful kick to an already perfect yuba. We have zero issues with the grandpa & grandma, not many customers at 1pm either. Perfect spot for after the shrines tour.

The gentle rush of the Daiya River and the vibrant greens of the surrounding Nikko forest provide a stunning backdrop to our perfect Yuba jyu that was presented in a beautifully lacquered jūbako and a covered bowl adorned with delicate floral motifs. A sprinkle of sanshō pepper awaits, promising a touch of zest to the meal. The restaurant is run with care by a gentle couple in a charming riverside spot. Simply the beauty and heartfelt hospitality of Nikko.

Hidden gem! Must visit if you are in Nikko. Beautiful scenery, simple yet delicious food, and really nice chef/owner. The tofu skin is soft and tender with nice flavorful broth. The udon noodle is chewy. And the musical water gushing in the background allows for a very enjoyable meal.

Pristine. We ordered one bowl of Adzuki Zenzai to share among three people. It was very very sweet, so that seemed like a good choice. It came with three little mochi balls and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The setting is amazing! Dragonflies, flowers, and overlooking a rushing river. Perfect for a warm September afternoon waiting for the bus.

Most beautiful shop I visited in my 6 week Japan trip. I knew the shop was 5/5 the moment I saw this quiet shop along the river. The food was the cleanest and healthiest I've had in Japan. I hope the shop is still around when I come back to Japan in the future as it is run by very old chef by himself when I came.

This place has the best atmosphere--you can't beat the view and sounds of the Daiya river. Saw a brown dipper happily jumping into the river. The udon broth was clean and delicious, and the pepper flower(?) on top of the yuba was perfect. I had the Hiyachi-ame drink, which was so refreshing. Oji-san was warm and friendly, he may seem stern at first, but it is probably due to the language barrier.
